In the world of fashion there are many components that help you achieve the perfect look. Staple pieces, multi-functional separates, statement accessories, weather appropriate items and on-trend outfit-makers; but, how can we access all these fabulous things without turning our closets into a war zone? Today I’m sharing some tips and tricks on how to turn your fashion area into a serenity spot!

How To Create The Ultimate Wardrobe Space:
* Organize the Area Into Different Sections: We might all dream of having a guest house just for our clothes, but, unfortunately this isn’t the reality for most of us. First it is to dedicate areas that cover our needs. Basics are: Elegant/Work Blouses, Casual/Sport Shirts, Jackets/Blazers, Dresses, Jeans, Work/Formal Pants, Shorts/Skirts, Loungewear/Sleepwear, Accessories (belts/handbags), Jewelry, No heel shoes and heels.

* Store Seasonal Items: In order to maximize the space, it is imperative to put away things that will only be use during a certain time of the year. If you live in London, this might be the case for sandals, swimwear or shorts; if you live in Miami, this is the case for outerwear and boots. The main thing its to find a space where to safely put them away until needed because if not they will take space from your current wardrobe.
* Separate Your Belongings: depending on the situation, this might take you days; however, unless you just moved to a new place, the best its to relocate pieces day by day. It is the perfect opportunity to put aside what you will never wear again and donate/gift it or use unworn items.
* Invest in Space-Saving Solutions: Your closet its your space to find who you want or have to be that day. Some days we are in a rush, others we stand for minutes staring at a full closet without finding what to wear. Over-The-Door hangers work wonders for large handbags, velvet hangers keep your shirts from falling (we all hate that!), baskets allow you to keep accessories safely, jewelry boxes divide and organize your bling, while shoe-organizers help you maintain them clean and accessible. These are all space-savers that will make your closet look and feel in order.

* Color-Coordinate Your Wardrobe: I cannot emphasize how important this is. This is the mother of all closet tricks! Color-coordinating your things will save you immense amount of time and frustration. If you have decided you need jeans, a tee and flats, just by looking around, you can picture yourself with dark rinse jeans, a mint green top and leopard flats. In addition,  since color has an effect on the mood (hello McD’s make-you-hungry yellow & red!), having them by color will make your space look like a pretty rainbow (if you use colors) and give you a sense of happiness/cheerfulness. 🙂
* Buy An Ottoman: Unless you have the space to have a boudoir or searing area in your closet, an ottoman will do the trick! Invest in a multi-functional one that serves as a seat and storage. It might sound silly but when you’re putting on socks, tights, thong sandals, booties or even planning what to wear, having an ottoman will make the process way easier. I have a zebra printed faux-leather ottoman and inside I put books (cause I’m a nerd) and receipts (cause I’m a frugalista).
* Let There Be Light!: Having a Bright Closet will help you find your things faster and see colors better. Painting it a light color and contrasting it with dark wood or white shelves will make it look more spacious and feel welcoming.

En el mundo de la moda hay muchos components que te ayudan a crear el atuendo perfecto. basicos necesarias, piezas multi-funcionales, ropa de acuerdo al clima y adiciones que vayan con las tendencias. Pero como accede a todas tus maravillosas cosas sin dejar tu closet como una zona de guerra? Hoy comparto contigo como convertir tu area para vestirte en un lugar sereno!

Como Crear El Mejor Espacio del Guardarropa:
* Organiza El Area En Diferentes Secciones: Todos sonamos con tener una casa dedicada a nuestra ropa pero como esto no es realisticamente possible, es importante dedicar areas que cubran nuestras necesidades. Basicas son: Blusas Elegantes/Trabajo, Camisas Deportivas/Casuales, Chaquetas/Blazers, Vestidos, Jeans, Pantalones Formales/Trabajo, Ropa de Dormir, Accesorios (correas/carteras), Joyeria, zapatos sin tacon y zapatos con tacones.

* Guarda Ropa de Temporada: Para poder maximizar el espacio es imperative guardar or poner en un area aparte, todas aquellas cosas que solo se usan en un corto period durante el ano. Si vives en Londres, serian cosas como sandalias, vestidos de bano o shorts; mientras que si vives en Miami, ropa de frio y botas solo son usadas por 2 meses (como mucho).
* Separa Tus Pertenencias: Dependiendo de tu situacion esto te puede tomar dias. Puedes elegir re-localizer todo tu guardarropa en un fin de semana o cambiar cierta cantidad de piezas por dia. Es la oportunidad perfecta para donar lo que no vas a utilizar de nuevo o finalmente usar aquello que esta nuevo.
* Invierte en Soluciones Ahorra-Espacio: Tu closet es tu lugar para encontra quien eres o debes ser cada dia. Algunos dias estas de apuro y otros te quedas mirando todo sin saber que ponerte, por eso es importante hayar accesorios que hagan sentir el espacio ordenado. Ganchos para las puertas te ayudan a poner tus carteras grandes, ganchos de ropa de gamuza mantienen las blusas con forma y evitan que se caigan, canastas mantienen tus accesorios a salvo, cajas de joyas te ayudan a organizar y dividir tus prendas, mintras que los organizadores de zapatos los mantienen limpios y accesibles.

* Coordina por Colores tu Guardarropa: Hay que hacer enfasis en esto porque es el truco mas importante cuando se trata de organizar el closet. Coordinar tu ropa y zapatos por colores te ayudara a mantnerlo organizado, a accede a tus pizas de acuerdo a tu animo o necesidad y a ahorrar tiempo y frustraciones! Recuerda que los colores tienen un efecto en el animo asi que un closet que luzca como un arco iris, te hara sentir mas relajado y feliz!
* Compra un Ottoman o Butaca: A menos que tengas espacio para un area de sentarse, o tu cuarto y closet sean abiertos, una pequena butaca le dara un sentido lujoso y ameno a tu espacio. Creeme, si te estas poniendo medias o botas, no hay nada mas necesario que tener en que apoyarse o sentarse. Busca uno que tenga espacio por dentro y asi puedes convertirlo en un lugar para poner cosas necesarias.
* Atrae La Luz: Tener un closet luminoso, lo hara sentir mas amplio y grande. Pintarlo de un color claro como blanco o beige y hacer contraste con la madera o rieles en marron o blanco, hara que el espacio se vea mas abierto. Ademas que la luz es impertaiva para ver m=bien los colores y encontrar las cosas mas facilmente!
