Visiting Paris for Fashion Week is one of my favorite things to do, and having the chance to see so many collections up-close, is definitely a dream come true. The Palace of Versailles is always a must go-to place for many reasons. It is an enchanting spot that makes you feel in between the old and new world. It reminds you of the beauty and decadence, and the tragedy behind one of the most beautiful places in France.
You can breathe and feel the history and the love that accompanies the tumultuous story of Napoleon and Marie Antoinette.
I think this transfers to fashion. There is a reason why French women are notable for their effortlessly chic way of dressing. They mix textures, patterns and colors without fear, but with plenty of class. The level of craftsmanship and attention to details seeing on a Parisian runway are above anything you could imagine. Even up-and-coming designers work with a standard of perfection and sophistication that do not need to be called Couture in order to look and feel like they are.
It comes from the passion for art and creativity that its rooted in the French society. Always used to do things in a way that leaves no room for mediocrity or blandness! Visitar Paris es una de mis cosas favoritas sobre todo poder ver tantas colecciones de cerca durante la Semana de la Moda. El Palacio de Versailles es un lugar encantador que te hace sentir entre el nuevo y antiguo mundo, por eso hay que visitarlo. Te recuerda la belleza, decadencia y tragendis detrás de uno de los lugares mas hermosos en Francia. Puedes sentir y respirar la history y amor que acompañó la tumultuosa relación de Napoleón y María Antonieta.
Yo creo que esto se transfiere a la moda, por eso es que las mujeres Parisinas son reconocidas por vestirse muy chic con mucha simplicidad. Mezclan texturas, estampados y colores sin miedo y con mucha clase. El nivel de atención a los detalles que se ve en una pasarela Parisina es mas allá de cualquier cosa que te puedas imaginar. Incluso los diseñadores novatos muestran un standard de sofisticación que no necesita ser llamado Alta Costura, para ser reconocido como tal.
Todo proviene de una pasión arte y creatividad que viene intrínsecamente de la sociedad Francesa, que hace todo sin dejar espacio para la mediocridad o aburrimiento. Alguna vez has ido a Versailles? Your ensemble is extra cute. I am not much of a fashionista. Thank heavens for stylists to make me look good when I need it. Versaille! Just love it! I was hoping to have time to return to France this summer but it is far too packed. Maybe I will make it early fall or next Spring. Fashion week is a great time to be there for anyone into the fashion arena.

I’m not bold enough to mix patterns. It just doesn’t feel right to me. I love the skirt. I can’t be fashionable in Versailles due to not being able to travel, so I’ll have to do it here locally.

Versailles looks so amazing, the inside reminds me of the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. Next time I visit Paris I definitely need to make a trip to Versailles, it looks perfect for some photography. You look super stylish too, love those boots 🙂

I totally agree with you that French women are so stylish because they live in such a beautiful and stylish place. I have found that women who live in trendy areas dress in a more trendy way, as well. It makes me think that I need to move to somewhere more stylish simply to improve my wardrobe!

What a stunning place to visit! I have always wanted to go all over the world traveling. Versailles would be wonderful. I will admit though I’m terrible when it comes to fashion. I have zero fashion sense. I wish I had some but sadly I’m awful. Your photos are just gorgeous! Looks like such a beautiful place to live!

The wife and I have always wanted to visit France, and Versailles has always been near the top of the list of places we want to visit. To be able to attend fashion week at such a historic venue must be an even more exquisite treat. Seeing all of those brilliant designs on the runway would get anyone excited (Well, my wife much more than me :))
