How To Get Luminous Skin!

Presiona Aquí Para Español!

This is a campaign in collaboration with Dove and Latina Bloggers Connect but all opinions and experiences are my own!

Lately, I have noticed that my skin needs a little extra love. I guess since I’m more active than usual with events, photos and traveling, the constant use of makeup its taking a toll on my skin. I suffer only from dry skin. It might sound like a blessing, but in fact, as we get older it could turn into a total curse. Having dry skin means that you are more likely to get wrinkles, lose elasticity, lack collagen, and therefore look older way faster.

greek

Nobody wants that! The older we get, the younger we want to look! That’s why I’m offering you my tips for Luminous Skin and the ones that I learned from Dr. Barba from @ViveMejor during the #MujerDove twitter party with Dove. Also, on my Clearly Starstruck With Dove post I asked everyone to share their tips for luminous skin. Check the pics of my fave ones so far!

  • Never go to bed with makeup: I forget about this one all the time. I come home tired and just want to throw myself in bed; however, I have noticed than when I don’t remove it, my skin feels like cardboard and looks dead the next day!
  • Eat healthy: You can buy the most expensive crème from La Mer but if you aint eating those veggies and fruits, you’re skin will dehydrate and lose the nutrients necessary to stay looking flawless. Eating foods rich in antioxidants like grapes, spinach, red berries and avocados, its way cheaper and delish!
  • Use sunscreen: I live in Miami and I never go to beach, mainly because I don’t like the sand and heat, but also because I don’t want to end up looking like a raisin. I will never get tired of saying it, make sure your primer, bb/cc cream, moisturizer, and/or foundation come with SPF of at least 15.
  • Exfoliate your skin: weekly if its dry or every 2-3 days if its oily. When we exfoliate our skin, we get rid of dead cells, toxins, dirt and residues from makeup that clog our pores, and cause breakouts or dryness.
  • Serum Up: Serums are the most amazing gift from the beauty world! They are charged with vitamins, anti-aging complexes, and boosted with powerful formulas that benefit your skin and give you more than the usual creams.

Ultimamente he sentido que debo darle mas amor a mi piel.

Nadie quiere lucir mayor!

  1. I do everything from the list regularly. 🙂 Exfoliation in combination with right serum really gives luminous skin. Of course, clean skin, sunscreens and healthy diet is extremely important as well.

You CAN get beautiful and flawless face with tons of makeup on but if you take good care of your skin, keep it well hydrated and follow skin care regime trust me, you will not need any makeup to hide your flaws as your skin will be glowing naturally ^_^

  5. Your tips are on the point, so many people neglect the basics of skin care and are unhappy when their skin doesn’t look the best! I am happy that I always manage to do all the above, especially the tip on removing make up . That takes so much discipline !! =)

I now drink at least 4 ltrs of water (compared to 1-1.5 ltrs preciously).. never go to bed with makeup on.. apply serum 2 times a day.. I’m so proud of myself 😛 .. I can see the result.. Hope I can continue doing this 😀 xxx

  7. That tip about makeup is so important. No matter how exhausted I am, I cleanse and exfoliate. I am surprised when people stay over at my house that so few people wash their faces before going to bed; not only does it brighten my skin, I just feel gross without doing it! Great post, Dee!

  8. I’m definitely on the exfoliating wagon this winter and I love Exsicata’s gentle exfoliating mask – it’s friendly to my sensitive skin. Serums are a favourite and I defo don’t go to bed with makeup on 🙂 The weather NY is really proving harsh on my skin these days, but I’m ready hehe
