The Beatles are renown music icons and one of my all-time favorite bands! I have been their fan since I was a baby because my mom is, what we would call now, a Beatliver 🙂 You can only imagine how much she freaked out when I met Stella McCartney! In a time of war and social changes, these 4 British stars shook the world with their flawless hair and up-tempo beats; however, their influence goes beyond timeless tunes and fashion-forward clothes. They were an inspiration that brought honest and heartfelt lyrics to a generation seeking for love, peace and unity.

Somehow, I always connected with Yellow Submarine! It’s probably the least “meaningful” song, but its lyrics are filled with a message of hope and happiness that I always relate to. It doesn’t hurt either that the video has visuals way ahead of its time! The song obviously talks about the war in a personal yet cheerful way, but what always stays with me its the hidden secret to a happy life: only give importance to what really matters and be grateful about everything. In The Beatles words: “As we live a life of ease, Every one of us has all we need, sky of blue, and sea green, in our yellow submarine”

Los Beatles son reconocidos íconos de la música y uno de mis grupos preferidos desde que era una bebé porque mi mamá es una fan de ellos. Se podrán imaginar lo emocionada que estuvo cuando conocí a Stella McCartney! En un tiempo de guerra y cambios sociales estos 4 jóvenes de Inglaterra cambiaron el mundo con sus cabellos impecables y su sonido revolucionario. Su influencia vá más allá de canciones inolvidables y ropa moderna, con sus letras honestas y emotivas, se convirtieron en la inspiración para una generación en búsqueda de paz, amor y unidad.

De alguna manera siempre conecté con la canción Yellow Submarine (Submarino Amarillo) muy a pesar que no es considerada de tener letras con mucho significado, me identifico con elelensaje de esperanza y felicidad que tiene entrelazado. Además que el video tiene un concepto visual muy adelantado para su época. La canción hanla de una manera personal y divertida acerca de la guerra, sin embargo tiene un mensaje acerca del secreto para una vida feliz: sólo darle valor a lo que realmente importa y estar siempre agradecido de todo. En las palabras de los Beatles: “Mientras vivimos una vida tranquila, cada uno de nosotros tiene todo lo que necesita, un cielo azul y un verde mar, en nuestro submarino amarillo”.
