I Hope Everyone is Having a Great Memorial Weekend!!

Personally, I think there is nothing better than having a family and friends get-together. Today I had a pool/BBQ soiree at my house and was so excited to welcome my loved ones into my new home. For such an event, the perfect complement for the outdoor outfit, is always waterproof makeup!

If there’s something that shouldn’t happen to a Haute Frugalista is smudged mascara or dripping foundation. Makeup for an outdoor event should enhance your beauty at the same time that it protects your skin, that’s why waterproof makeup and SPF protection are a must.

My key items for such an event are: tinted moisturizer with SPF, loose power, a big round brush, concealer (if you have blemishes or dark circles), bronzer or highlighter, waterproof mascara, lip gloss and a touch of perfume.

My faves are Chanel moisturizer, Almay tinted foundation, Mac concealer, Dior Addict lip gloss, Covergirl loose powder, Maybelline Illegal Lenghts waterproof mascara, VS brush and highlighter, and Juicy Couture ‘Viva la Juicy’ perfume.

For this occasion I chose a comfortable yet chic outfit, one that would allowed me to play hostess and mommy at the same time, specially since the weather was too hot for my newborn baby.

My ensemble consisted of a Trina Turk strapless one piece bathing suit in black with gold accents, an abercrombie & fitch white ruffle skirt, my Marc by Marc Jacobs sunnies, a shoedazzle turquoise statement ring and flying lizard turquoise earrings.

To complement my outfit, I painted my nails with a coat of mint nail polish that I bought at Forever21 and I put a top coat of Confetti’s pink glitter found at Cvs, to add a bit of dazzle.
