Kara Laricks, or Miss Laricks as her former students used to call her, was crowned as the first Fashion Star. Laricks, with her humbled yet determined personality, managed to put exquisite designs on the runway and make America fall in love with menswear inspired clothing.
Kara’s signature attention to details and avant-garde vision allowed her to showcase her perspective as a designer as well as put a unique stamp across each of her creations. Her winning not only demonstrates her talent but proves that fashion could lead a social movement that goes beyond gender and break the mould on what is consider “classic” aesthetics.
We will all be looking forward to Laricks’ future collections but in the meantime let’s enjoy her current frugalicious collaboration with H&M. With prices ranging from $9 to $50, there will definitely be something for the Haute Frugalista looking for edgier yet classic wardrobe staples.
