It has been an incredible week and I can’t wait to share all the amazing trends, runway shots, interviews, and of course, outfits! The street-style that I saw was unbelievable. From bold colors to ridiculously high heels, the trend-setters took Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York by storm (literally) and battled out the awful Nemo blizzard in style! I could not stay behind, and although I must admit the weather ruined some of my choice of footwear, I had a great time enjoying the shows and the ambience.

Hola Frugalistas!!

Ha sido una semana increible y no puedo esperar para compartir todas las tendecias para otoño, las fotos desde la pasarela, entrevistas y por supuesto todos mis atuendos! Desde colores fuertes hasta tacones terriblemente altos los fashionistas que atendieron Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week no dejaron que la terrible tormenta Nemo los alejara de la moda ni de mostrar sus mejores vestimentas! Yo no me oude quedar atras, y apesar que el clima me obligó a escoger distintos zapatos, me divertí muchísimo admirando los shows y el ambiente.

I know we all love a good deal! Often people ask me where do I buy my clothes and how do I get such good deals on brand names. That is why Sawgrass Mills Mall its my best-kept secret and one of my fave places to shop! This place not only includes your average Nike, Coach and VS Outlet, it also has the best and most upscale designer outlets stores! From Burberry, Valentino, Gucci, Adolfo Dominguez, Movado, Prada, Ferragamo, Michael Kors, to my dad’s guilty pleasure: Ermenegilno Zegna!

As if those fab stores weren’t enough, they have decided to leave me completely bankrupt by adding a Steve Madden and DKNY outlets stores to the new ‘Fashion Row’!! These are 2 of every frugalista’s go-to shopping destinations, and to think their prices will be even more frugalicious, Its out of this world!! If you come to Florida I will insist you visit this Mall. Not only are the stores amazing but they have great restaurants, amazing anchor outlet stores (Bloomies, Nod.Rack, Last Call, Off the 5th!) and places to have fun with or without the kiddies! On my Wearable Whims Wednesday part of the Haute Series, I will introduce you to different designers, new collections, boutiques and more from a street-style point of view! The idea is to get inspired through a realistic and approachable perspective!

Neontastic Finds From Nordstrom Part II: Under $100

I keep on finding myself more and more drawn to Neons. Is like a sugar rush I can’t get rid off! but who doesn’t enjoy the feeling in the meantime?

I love how Neon colors complement an outfit and add the vibrancy that we all need in our lives.
Some personal tips:
*Mixed with white, it adds a laid-back, cool California girl vibe.
*Mixed with darks (black/charcoal), it adds a certain sexiness, and edgy feel to the outfit.
*Mixed with Earthy neutrals, it gives a pop of color, taking the ensemble a notch without putting it on the spot.

Now if you are going to mix Neons with other colors:
*Choose no more than 3 colors and make sure they complement each other (look at a color wheel).
*make one brighter than the other/s to avoid a fight for the spotlight.
*If you decide to add a neutral tone to the mix you will create a look that is classy and fun at the same time.

As I said on my previous post, Finds Under $50, I found too many amazing things at Nordstrom so I decided to divide the list in two! This part is Under $100. All from Nordstrom, all frugalicious!! I’ve included once again Apparel, Accessories and Shoes, this time from labels like Michael Kors and Juicy Couture.

Frugalicious Outfit of the Day: A Turquoise Love

If there is one color that I absolutely adore is Turquoise! I happen to think that it’s a great complement to any outfit, regardless if its neutral or colorblocked.

In an all neutral outfit with earthy tones it makes it a bit romantic and classic; if its an all black enssemble, it gives some edge to the outfit and it adds a pop of color, making it stand out without been too much. Now, if its a colorblocked outfit, it turns it into a more vibrant and fun one, giving a summery feel to any outfit even on the cloudiest days!

*Bamboo embellished turquoise flats
*my fave new find: a blue & mint chain strap purse that could be used as a shoulder bag or crossbody bag, taking it from day to night in a second! You can find it here!
