From my recent visit to New York to my coverage of the Doral PGA Tour (yes, I write about sports entertainment as well!) I have been introduced to gadgets that merge technology with fashion. These innovative tools, allow people to engage in social media activity in a super fun way, and keep them interacting with brands and their audience.
At the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week lounges, Maybelline had a touchscreen vending machine which released free nail polishes, lipsticks and eye shadows! How awesome it’s that? not to mention way healthier than chips & sodas. Samsung offered a free personalized laser-cut cover for the Galaxy 3S and tablets! I got 2, just cause I’m a fashionista and need my covers to match my nail polish, and they added Haute Frugalista to the engraving. American Express had CoatChex, a revolutionary new coat-checking system which uses your phone number and photo to match the hanger where your coat it’s placed, giving piece of mind to those worrying about their 5K designer coat!
However, beyond getting free beauty products and personalized services, what its most exciting it’s the possibility to have a tangible souvenir that comes directly from a social media experience. TRESemmé had a photo booth that printed the pictures instantaneously, and in addition to that take-home gift, you could tweet and email the photos right away. Now, the Cadillac Championship team at the PGA Tour went above and beyond to make those instagram shots, truly valuable! They included the InstaPrint machine at their venue, which finds pictures from a specific hashtag and prints them instantaneously; however, what’s even better, it’s that the prints out are actually made of sticker paper, meaning that you can go crazy scrapbooking or putting them on your walls!

Desde mi más reciente viaje a New York hasta mi cubrimiento del Campeonato Cadillac de Golf del Doral PGA Tour (sí! también cubro entretenimiento deportivo!) Me he encontrado con numerosos aparatos que hacen una fusión entre la tecnología y la moda. Estas herramientas innovativas nos permiten mantener un contacto con distintas redes sociales de una manera divertida, y crear una relación interactiva entre las compañías y la audiencia receptora.
En las Salas de Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week tuve la posibilidad de probar distintos artefactos. Maybelline tenía una máquina dispensadora con una pantalla táctil que daba labiales, sombras y esmaltes gratis! Que tal?? Mucho más saludable que papas fritas y sodas. Samsung regaló cubiertas para los celulares Galaxy S3 que fueron hechas con laser en distintos colores y podian ser personalizadas! Yo pedí 2 que dicen Haute Frugalista para que me combinen con distintos atuendos. American Express contrató a CoatChex, una compañía con un sistema revolucionario para chequear los abrigos el cual utiliza un número celular y foto que coincide con el código usado en el gancho donde se coloca el abrigo! Ahora todos los fashionistas con los abrigos diseñador de 5 mil dólares pueden estra tranquilos que no recibirán el equivocado.
Sin embargo lo más emocionante es poder poner las experiencias que tenemos a través de las redes sociales en un formato tangible. TRESemmé tuvo la gran idea de incorporar una cabina fotográfica la cual imprimía las fotos instántaneamente y además tenía un sistema que permitía que las fotis fueran compartidas por Twitter o email enseguida. Pero fue el equipo del Cadillac Championship del PGA Tour el que llevó las fotos de instagram a otro nivel! Se unieron con InstaPrint, una empresa creadora de una máquina que encuentra las fotos de Instagram por medio de un hashtag específico y las imprime automáticamente, para volver nuestros Grams realmente invaluables; pero lo que es más divertido es que las fotos salen en papel de calcomanía, lo cual te da la posibilidad de pegarlas donde quieras y crear mil diseños con las fotos!
