Miami Tropical Style

I love Miami, don’t get me wrong, but the incessant heat and constant humidity kills my happy mood! I am not a beach or outdoorsy kinda girl, in fact, grass and sand were not meant to touch my body; however, that does not prevent me from loving the landscape. Miami has some of the most beautiful sunsets and night views you will ever see. Looking at the sky filled with pinks, lilac and soft blues, over an orange glowing cloud, is simply breathtaking. Perhaps admiring the shining moon dancing on top of the waves over the ocean, while illuminating the star studded -not talking about celebs tho Miami has them all the time- sky.

This constant exposure to colors and vibrant elements, has inspired and influenced my style.

This is a paid campaign in collaboration with JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® and Latina Bloggers Connect, but all opinions and experiences are my own!

About a month ago I was asked by JOHNSON’S® Baby to be part of their NO MORE TANGLES® Mother & Daughter video campaign. It was truly an honor to be requested for this wonderful initiative, but as a mom who tries to keep her kids’ privacy, I had to give it some thought. I’m sure many moms go through the same concerns with the easy social media access; however, after some thought, I knew this was something we had to do! I mean, who can say no to a partnership with a family brand like JOHNSON’S®, and to spending a fun mommy & me day? Sophie and I love creating fun braids, buns and ponytails because they are the ideal look for this hot season, so this project was a perfect fit for us.

How To Feel Great After Becoming A Mom

I have to admit that since I gave birth to my last child I have not been able to feel the same about myself. I mean, I went from a 7 pound daughter to a 9.4 pound son! Trust me, it was quite a shocker, but needless to say my body changed, and so did I. Suddenly I began to lose my self-confidence, feel a little odd about form-fitting clothes, and shy away from bright colors. In reality I had no reason for it, so I have decided to stop, and come to terms with the new me.

Oh Summer, how come we meet so soon? Time sure flies, and Mother Nature may throw a tantrum and send extra heat our ways, but she will not find us unprepared. I refuse to have my makeup smudge, my skin dehydrated or my eyes looking tired! But first, let’s start with Neutrogena UltraSheer Stick SPF 70 for the face and L’Oreal Paris Invisible Protect Sheer Spray SPF 50 for the body to avoid the damaging sun rays and protect our skin with SPF.

So, here is my makeup list that will take you from Hot to Haute!

* Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream: The best everyday go-to moisturizer during summer. It has SPF 15 and a light tint that gives enough color and coverage without the heavy look of foundation. Continue reading

My Journey As A Mom at Wyndham!

For Mother’s Day I relaxed with my family at the gorg Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort in Bonnet Creek while reflecting upon my journey as a mom. Been a mom requires wearing many hats, been on-call 27/7, and having duties 365 days a year, so it is great to be able to get away from the routine. It DOES NOT matter how old your kids are, you WILL ALWAYS be on mom mode. Why? because is part of the innate intuition and instinct that comes with becoming a mother. You know how I know this? because I have a mom myself.
