To be at the top of the fortress in Brimstone, surrounded by the history of the British and French colonization and the immensity of the ocean, is a once in a lifetime wanderlust experience. It can only be topped by seeing the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean at the same time on top of Timothy Hill. Continue reading →
Traveling is one of the things that really fuels my soul. It gives me the opportunity to learn about the history of the place, indulge in yummy local food, admire a different landscape and become acquainted with the culture. My journey to St. Kitts was that and more. This beautiful, and hidden spot, has got to be one of the most amazing places I have ever visited. Kissed by the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, and surrounded by the rainforest, St Kitts is a dream come true for any wander luster.
As a proud Colombian, I consider Cartagena one of the most special places to visit. The colorful streets, the fresh fruits and seafood, the history behind the city and its walls, and the never-ending nightlife are some of the things I enjoy when I go there. During my last trip to Cartagena, I went to meet the new TPC Cartagena at Karibana Golf and Beach Resort. The luxury spot gives you an exclusive view of the water from the hills of the golf course. Cartagena – @HauteFrugalista Express Crop Top| Jose Cuello Skirt| Marc Jacobs Handbag| Tory Burch Sunnies| Forever 21 Jewelry| Coach Wedges
For my outfit in “La Ciudad Amurallada” I had to represent my roots, so I paired an Express crop top with an abstract-printed soft denim skirt from Colombian designer Jose Cuello. I really liked his designs because he knows how to mix bright colors and bold prints in light fabrics, with incredible style and class. Even though it was extremely hot- thank God for cold coconuts-, a traditional sombrero vueltiao’ was the ideal addition to my look.
Visiting Paris for Fashion Week is one of my favorite things to do, and having the chance to see so many collections up-close, is definitely a dream come true. The Palace of Versailles is always a must go-to place for many reasons. It is an enchanting spot that makes you feel in between the old and new world. It reminds you of the beauty and decadence, and the tragedy behind one of the most beautiful places in France.
You can breathe and feel the history and the love that accompanies the tumultuous story of Napoleon and Marie Antoinette.
I think this transfers to fashion. There is a reason why French women are notable for their effortlessly chic way of dressing. They mix textures, patterns and colors without fear, but with plenty of class. The level of craftsmanship and attention to details seeing on a Parisian runway are above anything you could imagine. Even up-and-coming designers work with a standard of perfection and sophistication that do not need to be called Couture in order to look and feel like they are.
